Mental Health: Much More Than a ‘State of Mind’

childupsetREX010606_228x315Last month the British Medical Association (BMA) released a shocking report which found that as many as one in ten children and young people between the ages of one and 16 are suffering from a serious mental health problem.

That thousands of children are being pushed to breaking point, with nothing being done to deal with the root causes, is surely the most telling indicator of the unequal and competitive society we live in.

Unfortunately these days the theory of evolution has evolved from a theory that scientists are trying to verify, to a religious belief. For instance, now we frame the discussion on evolution like this: you either believe in evolution, or you believe that God created the world in seven days as it says in the bible. For this reason any discussion on this subject seems to throw you into the midst of a huge controversy, or a lot of nonsensical babble.
